Nottingham Academy

Basketball Academy

From September 2010, Year 12 students attending the Nottingham Academy can become part of our Institute of Basketball Excellence which is a joint initiative with one of the UK's top clubs, the Nottingham Wildcats. The Institute is open to both male and female players who will be able to train every day, during curriculum time, under the guidance of the Institute's Director, Phil Waghorn.

The excellence programme will look to improve the individual fundamentals, team awareness and physical condition of the players. This is a serious student athlete programme which will require many sacrifices. It is not an after school programme and, as well as an arduous basketball programme the students will not be given any concessions on their Academy work. Fall behind academically and the player's basketball will be withdrawn until they have caught up!

The Nottingham Academy Institute of Basketball Excellence provides the perfect opportunity to develop players of all ages and to work with the existing community to further enhance basketball in the area.   Click on the right hand link to see more details.
